Lineage Piece Keys Guide: Every Key & Which Door It Opens
Every Key and Its Source
- Trial’s Key — bought from the Portal Key Seller (1 Boss’s Soul + 75K coins, or 750 gems). Opens artifact portals (artifact guide).
- Cid’s Key — Dawnwind Village bandits, 0.5%, after finishing Cid’s quest; or 8 Tower Shards at the Tower Shop. Opens Cid’s Castle.
- Shrine Key — Snow Bandits (Lv.600), 1%; or 5 Tower Shards. Opens the Plane of Euthymia (Raiden’s dungeon).
- Cartenon Key — Sung Jin Woo boss, 60% — effectively guaranteed farm. Opens Cartenon Temple (Shadow Monarch content).
- Absolute Ether Key — opens Absolute Dead End (Miyabi’s dungeon).
- Scatthen Key — Quincy mobs (Lv.5000), 1%. Opens Wandenreich (Yhwach’s dungeon).
- Ryuudo Key — opens Ryuudo Cave (Saber Alter’s dungeon).
- Glamoth Planet Key — opens Glamoth Planet (Firefly’s dungeon).
- Butterfly Grave Key — from Angela NPC. Opens The Butterfly Grave (Solemn Lament’s dungeon).
The Tower Shop Shortcut
The Tower Shop converts Tower Shards (earned per cleared floor) into keys: 5 shards → Shrine Key, 8 shards → Cid’s Key. If you run the Tower daily anyway, this out-paces the sub-1% drop farms.
Which Keys to Stockpile
Whatever dungeon your next unlock needs — check the dungeon drop tables and work backwards. Cartenon Keys arrive faster than you can spend them (60%); the painful ones are Shrine and Scatthen at 1%, so bank those whenever they drop rather than farming them on demand.

Questions players ask
Real searches that land on this page, answered in one go.
How do I get Cid's Key?
It drops from Bandit (Lv.1) on Dawnwind Village at 0.5%, but only after finishing Cid's questline (find 2 crowbars, take 5M damage). The Tower Shop on Monument Isle also sells it for 8 Tower Shards. It opens Cid's Castle.
How do I get a Shrine Key?
Snow Bandit (Lv.600) on Frostborn Island at 1%, or 5 Tower Shards at the Tower Shop. It opens the Plane of Euthymia (Raiden's dungeon).
How do I get the Absolute Ether Key?
The official board's Absolute Ether Key card is empty — no source is listed. The key opens Absolute Dead End, Miyabi's dungeon. We do not guess a source here.
How do I get the Ryuudo Key?
Not listed on the official board either: the Ryuudo Key card has no description. It opens Ryuudo Cave (Medusa → Corruption → Saber Alter).
How do I get a Cartenon Key?
From the Sung Jin Woo boss on Fossil Island at 60% — effectively one every two kills. It opens Cartenon Temple (Shadow Monarch).
How do I get Trial Keys?
From the Portal Key Seller on Scorched Ruins: 1 Boss's Soul + 75,000 coins, or 1 Boss's Soul + 750 gems. The Merchant in Lineage Town also rotates it in at 600 gems. Boss's Souls drop 1 per kill from Legend's Arena bosses. Trial Keys open the artifact portals.
How do I get the Scatthen Key for Wandenreich?
Quincy mobs (Lv.5000) in Hueco Mundo at 1%. The board also lists a Scatthen Key Quest (kill 500 Quincy, defeat Aizen 25 times, find 4 Reishi Crystals — needs Observation Haki).
